2014 is the year of Mermade Market’s birth! For a few years, I knew something was missing in our beautiful town of Dana Point, as well as neighboring towns. A local, go-to market that could let shoppers shop without the pressure of a sale. And it had to be by the beach, everything is better by the beach. My husband, Drew, quickly invested into my dreams and together, we made it a reality. The name came first. Second, was finding the perfect spot for it. It couldn’t be in one of those hotel buildings or big ol’ warehouses. On a walk around the farmers market, with our pup and 20 month old boy on a cold February morning, we found it. It felt like fate!

Built upon my vision to bring together likeminded lovers of shopping small and thinking big, Mermade Market has become a community staple that motivates our growing team to deliver incredible products to eager fans twice a year, every spring & winter. You’ll find the “inside” portion of the market, a pressure-free way to shop. The makers have their shop spaces set up, but aren’t they there with their product. The “outside” market is the exact opposite, with the makers under Mermade tents ready to chat with and sell directly to you, keeping those good, shop-small vibes rolling.

Mermade Market is a 4-day festival that feels like a pop-up shop, meets craft fair, meets farmers market, meets family reunion! Since our very first show in April 2014, we’ve proudly presented some of the most incredible creators, crafters & makers we’ve ever seen. Amongst all the friendly faces and shopping finds at Mermade Market, you’ll typically find food trucks, free activities for the kids, unique treats and live music.

Part of the charm of Mermade Market is its ideal location - The Ocean Institute in Dana Point! Prior to the “pandemic”.. we were at a cute quaint little spot that kind of restricted us to how many people could shop at any moment. Now, we have been invited to showcase down ON THE WATER and we have never been happier! No matter how you journey through Mermade Market you’ll arrive at your destination feeling fulfilled, satisfied and happy!

As we enter into our 13th show, Winter 2021, our family has grown as well as the Mermade community! We have three beautiful babes. They have been along for the ride and it’s been nothing short of exciting and rewarding. Our kiddos look forward to each show and have a good time decorating with us and hearing all the behind the scenes conversations that happen at the dinner table & on our beach walks. Our customers and makers have become like family to us and we see you all over town, all the time! We are grateful for each & everyone of you!
